Despite the protestations of the remaining PC gamers it really does seem that the end of this way of playing games is near. In fact those who still cling onto their computers seem a bit stubborn and silly. These days game developers seem to be moving away from the PC platform when it comes to releasing the big games and there has been a huge drop in the number of people buying these games.

All of the big three games consoles – Sony’s PlayStation 3, the Nintendo Wii and the Xbox – have their own individual merits and demerits. Each gamer will have their own favourite console, and it’s a pointless exercise to try and persuade them that one of the other consoles might be better. Video gaming is an activity that, as a rule, tends to take place in teenage bedrooms. Your kids get to about ten years old and you buy them a games console (after all, all their friends have got them). They then disappear into the bedroom for hours on end. You see them occasionally when they emerge, red eyed, for toilet breaks and a quick snack to give them the energy they need to level up. The world is full of video game enthusiasts. And if you’re one yourself, you may have thought about whether or not it’s possible to get paid to play. In fact, it is! There are many lucrative opportunities in the field including those that involve playing video games all day. But do not think for a second that just anyone can get these jobs. Creating a new video game requires a lot of hard work. Developing the most exciting, challenging and playable game may take years from writers, illustrators, animators, and many others. But the launch of any new game will not happen until it has been played countless times by average people just like yourself in an effort to discover any problems or imperfections within the game.
