File recovery with no backup files isn’t simple-however it’s achievable. Before I go any further, allow me suggest that you backup your computer system now whilst it’s still working.

When you try to recover files without having backup, you need to know that it might take a while for this process and in the long run it might not work anyway. I just thought I should warn you before we commence.

Listed below are three techniques I use to generate a backup file even after I’ve lost my files:

Get as much backup as you possibly can

The majority of disks that fail only fail partially (at least initially-all of them fail entirely ultimately). Using a particular tool, it is possible to recover all the data on the still-operating parts of the drive.

I use a tool called ddrescue. It runs through the Windows command line, so there’s no impressive graphical wizard that can walk you through recovering your disk drive. (I told you this wouldn’t be straightforward.)

Nevertheless, ddrescue might be ugly to most people but it makes up for it when it recovers your files. This software, when first started, will try reading your hard disk drive as fast as it can, skipping any errors. It will backup files that are available. After that it will go back and try to get more files from the heart to get to areas on the disk drive. After that, there’s nothing else ddrescue can do for you on its own.

Cool Out Backup Files

Many hard disc drives fail because the tiny ballbearings inside them wear down and cannot spin like normal. Sometimes, by shrinking these ballbearings, you can allow them to spin again.

You can shrink these ballbearings by chilling down the hard drive in a freezer. You will need to double wrap your hard drive in a zip lock bag. Make sure that the bags are secure and place your hard drive in the freezer overnight. Then in the morning while the hard drive is chilled, attach it to a computer and try to get the files off again. You can run ddrescue to see if it can recover any more files for you.

Get Your Backup Data files From A Pro

There are lots of companies that specialize in data recovering files and they can perform amazing things that you can not do. For example they have the right environment, the right tools, and the right expertise to get your files back of your hard drive.

I have to warn you though, this service is not cheap and can cost you anywhere from $400 and upwards to $2000 and more.

The good news is that most of these services which offer backup data files offer free evaluations-you simply need to mail them your disk drive. (Just make certain that they’re a reputable business, or they might not mail back your drive if you don’t buy from them.)

Conclusion

We all know that the conclusion here is to avoid these situations and always backup your files. Obviously all of this work above sounds like a big fat hassle and we would all love to not be involved with it.

Kel has been obsessed with computer systems for as long as she can recall and loves recovering data from almost impossible situations. She also shows how to to snyc backup files so you always have a proper backup!

Most of us would love to have our own business and, when thinking of ideas, it is always important to consider where your strengths and skills lie. If you have computer skills then you may well be in a position to set up the business around these. Here are a few very simple tips that may help you set up a business in computer repair in Pickering.

First of all, you need to consider where you’ll work from. You will have the choice between going to your clients houses and working from there, renting premises to work from, or working from home.

You will obviously need to know which services you will be providing. Consider whether you are going to specialize in particular methods of computer repair such as getting rid of viruses, or whether you would be offering more general services across the board.

Market research will be very important. In particular this will help you to find out about your competition. Knowing whether there is actually need for your services is extremely important and, at the same time, you would be able to find out how much you should be charging for these services. To get going it might be a good idea to offer discounts.

After putting all of this in place you should start getting the word out. It is no point setting up the business at all unless people are actually aware of your services. Your marketing plan should include off-line marketing and online marketing methods. The more people you are able to reach, more likely you will get more customers.

Throughout this it is important to consider the scale of the business as well. Are you simply looking to work in a part-time capacity, all you looking to setup a full-time business. If you are going for the latter then he may want to look into the option of bringing some additional employees on board further down the line.

Check out our site for all the latest tips and tricks in keeping your computer running at its best. For computer repair that works, check out our site. Don’t wait, check this great site out now. Compute Oshawa

A question that is asked time and time again in many homes is why is my computer slow? Even with good anti-virus and malware programs computers will have many issues over their life time.

A common question today in many homes is why is my computer slow? Even with proper virus protection computers will have many problems over their life time.

Help with slow computers come in many forms. Computer repair and protection is certainly a flourishing industry today. But virus safeguard is not adequate. Computers become blocked with all kinds of “additional” corrupt files that can slow and even destroy a computer.

(1) The first line of resistance – computer security. All virus software isn’t created equal. When buying a computer there will be a virus protection software available free for a “trial” period. But following this initial time you will be asked to upgrade and buy the software on a yearly billing. Avast anti-virus is greatly recommended by many computer techs. The home version is free with just an annual re-registering and entering a new registration code. It takes about 5 minutes for them to send you an email and then you simply copy and paste the code. This is first-rate protection and does a “boot scan” that most other anti-virus programs do not. A boot scan is run before Windows opens on computer startupAvast’s boot scan has found a lot of viruses that most other anti-virus software applications have not found. And any extra assistance is certainly great when it comes to viruses.

(2) Get rid of software and programs that are not being used. All computers have programs pre-installed when they are new that are not needed or even wanted by the buyer. Most of these are sales pitches for you to buy their products. To do away with un-used software applications go to the “Control Panel” and then to Programs and Features. From here just select a program and click “un-install”. But check this out and be careful . If you un-install the wrong program you may disable something in your computer you do not wish to. The list does give you the day the application was last opened but the names are not always descriptive enough to be sure exactly what you are about to remove.

(3) And now try a registry cleaning. The best and securest way to clean up and repair your computer is to use a “windows registry” fixer service. Over it’s life the registry of any computer will become disorganized and contain errors and duplicates that will make your computer very slow. A defrag will probably help some but a good registry cleaner can fix, remove and organize your registry data. As you investigate you will find many registry cleaners available but as with nearly all consumer items there are all spectrums of quality. You can perform a free scan with the majority of these cleaners and see what errors and other problems are discovered. In just a matter of minutes the scan will tell you whether your PC has to have a registry cleaning. It is a secure and easy first move that may save you money and a great deal of time.

As you study Registry Cleaners to fix a slow computer, you want a software you can trust, that is proven, that has a free scan, that is rated very well by customers that have tried it themselves and is also easy to use and understand.

A computers Random Access Memory (simply short-term-memory) is the place that the pc stores certain data resources that it uses often so it can be opened quickly and easily. The capacity of the random access memory will effect the computer’s speed and performance. “RAM” or Random Access Memory is somewhat different from hard drive memory. The hard drive memory retains most of your pictures, music, programs, and other data.

Try out these ideas on why your computer may need more RAM:

(1) The two principle operating systems today are Windows XP and Windows Vista. XP requires a good deal more Random access memory than does Vista, maybe as much as two times the memory. Check out your computer operating system. If it uses up close to 75 percent of your RAM capacity your PC will be real sluggish.

(2) Gaming needs a lot more RAM than simply surfing the web, word processing, etc. Also, gaming also requires very rapid processor speed. So, if your computer is slow while play games, check your game specifications against your computer’s CPU speed.

(3) Lots of sluggish computers just don’t have adequate RAM. And still RAM isn’t expensive. When buying or even ordering a new computer, get additional RAM added. It is money well spent.

There’s a very simple test that can show if your PC has enough RAM. Click right on your desktop’s bottom tool bar and you should see a pop up box. After that click on “Task Manager” and the Windows Task Manager opens displaying the Applications, Processes, etc that are running. Check at the lower part of the box and you should see: “Processes”, “CPU Usage”, and “Physical Memory”.

Compare CPU Usage and Physical Memory. Central processing unit Usage is the amount of your computer’s central processing unit (or drive engine) capability is being utilized by percentage (i.e. 0% is idol and 100% is max’ed out). The Physical Memory is your RAM. This shows what is going on in your computer’s processor. Simply: The closer your computer’s Physical Memory is to 100 percent the more of a strain your computer will have to work under. And the slower your computer’s processor will probably be.

Now try this.., let your computer fully catch up and run at idol. Your CPU usage rate ought to drop to 0% or at the least to 10 percent. (If it does not drop this low then maybe you have a program operating – it perhaps could be your computer’s virus shield program that is running, if not you could have been infected by a virus – and that is a different problem.) Once the CPU has fallen near to an idol, check out your Physical Memory ratio. If your Physical Memory or Random access memory still shows to be in the 75 percent or plus area you do not have an adequate amount of RAM to conduct your PC at the fastest speeds.

It does not matter how powerful and high end your pc is, it will slow down eventually with frequent use.

It does not matter how good and high end your pc is, it will slow down eventually with frequent use. It’s because personal computers, just like a automobile, is supposed to be well maintained for it to function at its maximum level. Suffice to say that maintenance is important for your Computer.

After constant use, your pc’s performance will start to deteriorate. Opening a computer program takes more time than normal (some programs could not be accessed at all) and error messages regularly pop up. Well, you may check out some home solutions for the computer running slow issue yourself to increase your PC’s operation.

First thing to do? What you might try is to check out your drives to see whether or not they have adequate free storage space. Your computer uses this free space whenever it opens a application or program (for additional RAM or random access memory to help your PC’s memory card). Depending on its capability, at least 25 % of your hard drive storage space should be available for use at any time. If the computer’s hard drive has too many files and applications, then its’ time that you delete or uninstall several of them.

When removing programs, you should be careful as some applications are linked with other programs (that uninstalling them could cause the additional program to be inoperable). Uninstall the operations that you rarely use and are not vital in the day to day working of your PC. Games, graphic intense programs as well as music and video storage will use a lot of the available storage space and use a substantial amount of available capacities so keep these as small as possible.

An additional solution for the computer running slow might be defraging your hard drive or principle drive data storage area. While there is existing space in the hard drive, accessing the information could be slow because of bad placement or organization of the stored information. Simply click on “my computer” then right-click on the drive you want to defrag. After that click the “tool” tab and then “degrament now”. If the computer has a Vista system rather than the earlier versons you would click “programs” then “accessories” and after that System Tools and go to Disk Defragmenter and go by the instructions shown there.

Resolving a few of your computer running slow issues is a project that you may try on your own but be certain that you practice a small amount of carefulness.

Perhaps you have already lived through slow computer problems and have thought about a registry fixer. This type of problem can be pretty frustrating to say the least. But one of the primary things to do is check with the technical support of your internet service provider. Is your internet connection OK and is its speed correct? If you find all is well with your internet provider then you can go ahead with other possible solutions such as with the registry.

But what is the easiest way to confirm this? You may call your ISP and possibly stay on the phone for quite some time or try a Speed Test on the internet service. It is easy, quick, and at no cost. You do not have to rely on your for this. Just do a search for a “DSL speed test” and you will see several sites offering free tests. It only take a minute. You do not even have to insert any data. Just click on “Start Test” and the web site will configure your connection automatically.

I have used a free site www.My-Speedtest.com several times. The test I just ran came back with over 3000 kb per second download and 340 kbps upload speeds. While this isn’t a good speed for quite a few of you, it is acceptable for me. I live in a country area and this is the performance my Internet service provider has promised me. Confirm yours and see what you get. And check your contract with your ISP and see what performance you were promised.

Some internet companies offer different internet speed for different prices, and it might be you should move up to a high speed internet connection based on your specific requirements.

Once you have decided against an ISP problem you may want then to move on to the next most likely reason: the computer needs a registry fixer. Should this be your subsequently step please investigate the best registry fixer to be had.

Remember it might not be the computer with the problem, so don’t overlook what might be too obvious when trying to find your slow computer troubles.

If you’ve tried quick fixes that didn’t work out your computer’s performance problems, maybe it is about time you get a registry cleaner.

The computer registry is an important, integral part of your computer’s CPU because it is the place that programs and utilities settings are kept in storage. What this means is that any time you open a program, data can be taken from the PC registry area. However the constant use of the computer – in particular the installing of numerous applications counting the unauthenticated ones – takes a toll on any pc’s registry. Soon you may find a lot more errors whenever you start up some of your programs. Certain programs will not even start and then your computer may prompt you to take actions on some registry problems it has encountered.

You will need a registry fixer to address these type problems, clean your data storage area and speed up the sluggish computer. When you try to access a program on the computer, it’s CPU will need to locate and open the registry configuration for that program. Without optimization in storage it will simply take longer for this to be done each time.

Computers that are connected together online are also prone to dangers like mal-ware and ad-ware that are likely to pop up at some given times while the personal computer is running. These pop-ups in reality leave an imprint in the computer’s registry area, making it hard for a few anti-viruses to discover them. A registry fixer should clean the Computer’s registry from all unnecessary files and storage area.

Software that is pirated or stolen, can cause a great deal of trouble for the computer’s registry. For one thing, certified applications may have viruses or corrupted files in them that could not be fixed, while others may not even have registry log files. Certainly this can be a reason for so many error messages. A registry cleaner will remove these files and will open up more free space. It can also help keep the registry from becoming so disorganized and cluttered, and improve the speed and performance of the computer.

A good registry fixer can help your computer in many ways especially in speed and performance.

When talking about computer Optimization, there is a lot of information available. This information will tell you that your computer needs improvement in performance and efficiency. Is it true? Does your computer really need it?

When talking about computer Optimization, there is a lot of information available. This information will tell you that your computer needs improvement in performance and efficiency. Is it true? Does your computer really need it?

Absolutely! Many people don’t know that there are many weak areas in Windows operating system. Some of them include:

-Registry

-Hardware management

-Internet connection

Windows internal database is the registry. It has from drivers and hardware info. to application settings. Programs can leave behind pieces of information after removing hardware devices such as a video card. On removal, most people don’t think about it, but the applications don’t uninstall completely. There is “regedit” that you can run but you will have to manually go in and remove all the information pertaining to what you removed and then you have to remove it. This can be quite dangerous! I recommend you use a software program instead.

When I say hardware management I am talking about memory and hard-disk management. Each program uses some part of your computer’s memory. Memory allocation is determined by how much room a program will take and what resource is available. Once the application stops, that used portion of memory should be available. However this doesn’t always happen. So when a new program requests the memory it needs to run, it will slow down your computer since it has to compete with the other sources for the remaining resources.

When removing files from your computer this will also happen. They are not all erased. While affecting your other files they will remain on your hard-disk. As said above, this is the same idea as memory usage. Defragmenting once a month will help clean the remaining information.

The internet is a highway for so many people. So a big issue is internet speed. By this I mean download speed and browsing the internet. Your computer takes a site’s server and creates a channel to download it while you are browsing the site. It is true, your internet subscription determines download speed but there is another factor. Connection channels are both single and multi threaded. Ultimately the channel should be single threaded. Creating a download channel for each you computer will break down the download file. After downloaded, your computer should rebuild the source. This is accomplished by download accelerators.

Computer optimization, do we need it? Definitely! Free of charge, there are many options. Registry errors are quite dangerous and I would not suggest trying to fix them on your own. Don’t hesitate to buy an inexpensive program to fix these errors.

by Walter Coyote

A data recovery company should offer a variety of products and services. They should be able to recovery your data whether it be logistical or physical, provide further data recovery software or products, and some even provide on line or off site data backup services. Each company will employ data recovery experts and their staff is specially trained to recover data from your hard drive.

Find out whether the company offers physical and logistical data recovery and what software is used for those purposed. Another question is whether the company provides on line and off site data backup systems. Data backup is very important since 100% recovery is not possible.

The standard of Clean Room is extremely important and many companies are ranked by their standard of Clean Room. The smallest dust particle and one stray fingerprint can destroy your data and make data recovery impossible. Clean Rooms are certified and if you need proof the data recovery company should be able to provide their certification. A good company will have a ranking of class 100 clean room.

Mechanical problems in your hard drive may result in lost data. Thus, you will need to know about the data recovery company’s capability to fix mechanical problems. One important consideration is whether your computer or hard drive is still under warranty. If so, you’ll want verification that the data recovery company is authorized to work on the hard drive without violating the warranty. You don’t want to lose your warranty protection because a company is not honest about their authorization.

You also need to be aware of all costs. What will the price be for each type of service or replacement parts? Most data recovery companies will provide you with an initial assessment that should detail what the problem is and how much it is to fix. You should also get prices for additional services if needed and make sure that they get your approval before fixing any problems that were not quoted on the initial assessment.

This kind of cost breakout will be important to get for all products and services that you may need for data recovery in your system. If you see that a service in one company’s breakout is not listed by another company, ask that company for more specifics. You need to be on the lookout for possible hidden costs. Also, be careful about any company that tells you that a particular service is free. How many things in life are really free?

If you are sure to ask for specifics from each company before signing a contract, you are less likely to face problems in the middle of a data problem. You don’t want your data recovery company giving you a bill for costs that were hidden previously. It should be clear in the contract that the company must seek approval for any services or products beyond the original scope of work. That will protect you from having them install extras that you don’t need in the middle of a crisis.

When data needs to be recovered, you don’t want to be negotiating the costs and services in the middle of the crisis. If you are careful in selecting a data recovery company, you will be more likely to get services that are efficient and cost effective.
