It’s no big secret that twitter marketing is a highly effective way to drive tons of targeted traffic to your online business. The main problem with twitter is that all your conversations or “tweets” as they call it must be short and to the point.

Here are five strategies that you can use in your twitter marketing that will grow your business.

* Keep it Real. Be a real person and share your thoughts, dreams, frustrations and others things on twitter. It just doesn’t always have to be about your next business proposal. Learn to connect with people beyond the business realm and be social. After all isn’t that what social marketing is about?

* Be Controversial. There’s a reason why so many celebreties and music stars get attention, it’s because they understand the value of getting attention. Being controversial attracks attention, so be opinionated in your “tweets” and people will both love you and hate you for it, but in the end you’ll gain more followers.

* Tweet about Nothing. Here’s something to think about, not everyone visits twitter to do business, in fact most just head there to have fun. So why not do the same thing? Make your tweets interesting and people will take notice.

* Confucious Say Post A Quote. Everyone loves motivational messages and quotes so why not post a few and see what happens. Not only will you gain a few visitors you just might make someone’s day, now there’s a potential customer for life.

* Be Cool Man. Here’s something a lot of marketers do not realize when it comes down to twitter marketing. Nobody goes to twitter to be sold something. Instead people are after, news, quotes; funny Youtube videos and other time wasting events. So give them what they want. Surf around and when you find something interesting, funny or worth posting then “tweet” about it.

The point is be a real person and have some fun and in the end you’ll gain all the traffic you want to your website because you were real and social and not just after the next marketing promo pitch.
